Paduganan wins 3 titles in Cebuana Age Group Tennis




Misamis Oriental's Auden Aaron Paduganan emerged as the biggest winner at the recently -concluded Ubay, Bohol leg of the 2014 Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group Tennis Championships ruling 3 categories even as local bet Dawn Albert Uy carried the province winning two titles.

Paduganan, a consistent winner in this 8-year old naton-wide developmental tennis program of PHILTA chairman Jean Henri Lhuillier, flirted with disaster in the 18 & under boys' finals, dropping the first set before beating provincemate Rusel Cero 3 - 6, 6 - 1, 10 - 4. Earlier , Paduganan had an easy 6 - 4, 6 - 3 victory over Jeff Balatero for the 16 & under crown. He teamed up with Balatero to win the 18 & under boys' doubles diadem, defeating Duma Hakim Boloto and Clyde Mari Casino 7 - 5, 6 - 4.

Uy dominated both the 16 & under and 18 & under girls' categories, beatig sibling Katrina Faye 6 - 1 , 6 - 1 in the 18 & under and swept Gennifer Lysandra Pagente 6 - 4, 6 - 1 in the 16 & under girls' finals. Pagente settled for the 14 & under category where she disposed of Ellaine Rose Bahonsua 6 - 2 , 6 - 2 in the championship match. Pagente and Bahonsua prevailed over Armoda Gumapac and Zenia Javellana 6 - 2 , 6 - 3 in the girls' 14 & under finals of the tournament also supported by Dunlop Sports..

Other boys' age group winners were Boloto in the 14 & under where he beat Casino and local bet Dan Rev Bolong in the 12 & under as he dominated 10 & under champion Rupert Ohrelle Tortal, the latter partnered with Ashton Benne Villanueva to win the 10 & under doubles crown. Siblings Fonzy and Justin Yepis took the 14 & under doubles' title.
