Manila Standard – Lanzado scores twin-kiill at Cebuana net tourney

Tangub City’s Francis Lanzado won twice over Gingoog City bet Joel Librado in two different age groups to lead the winners in the recent Cebuana Lhuillier national age-group series’ third leg in Iligan City.

Lanzado defeated Librodo, 7-5, 3-6, 10-5, to win the 16-under boys’ title and repeated over the same foe, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 to add the 18-under crown to his collection.

Zamboanga bet Jose Ma. Pague emerged winner in the 14-under with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-2 win over Marawi’s Duma Hakim Boloto. Local bet Vince Serinoswept Tubod’s John Sonsona, 6-1, 6-0 for the 12-under boys’ crown.

The 10-under title went to Ashton Villanueva from Ozamiz, who beat Iligan City’s Lester Gasacao, 5-3, 4-2.

In the girls’ side, Gennifer Pagente of Cagayan de Oro beat Ashley Balatero from Ozamis, 3-6, 6-4, 10-2, for the 12-under title, but lost to Carmeville Gervacio, 6-4, 3-6, 5-10 in the 14-under finals. Immaville Gervacio annexed the 16-under crown as she defeated Samar bet Ma. Delirose Duran, 6-2 , 6-4, and repeated in the 18- under age group after beating Bukidnon’s Kendies Thea Malinis, 7-5, 6-3.

Meanwhile, the fourth leg of the series began Saturday in Tubod, Lanao del Norte at the Mindanao Civic Center Courts, a five-court tennis center in the region.

Gov. Abdul Khalid Dimaporo is supporting the event that is expected to attract over 100 entries, according to event organizer Mario Craiz.
