The organizers of the 2013 Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group series held its very first leg for National Capital Region this year and attracted not only local budding tennis stars, but got entries from as far as Ilocos Norte, Rizal, Bulacan, Laguna and Cavite, totalling 120 participants

Held over the last two weekends, the tournament was part of the nation-wide grassroots tennis development program sponsored by Cebuana Lhuillier, headed by sportsman-businessman and tennis patron Jean Henri Lhuillier. It was the second leg of the series following the inaugural one in Kidapawan in Cotabato.

“I am a firm believer that the future of Philippine tennis lies on the young players of today and so there is the need to continue discovering and identifying those with potentials particularly in the provinces, “ said Lhuillier, also the team manager of the Philippine Davis Cup Team.
