Action in the quarterfinals of the two-week National Capital Region leg of the Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group Tennis series resumes today at the PhilAm Homes Tennis Club courts in Quezon City after winding up the preliminary games last weekend in the different age groups.

A total of 120 young tennis hopefuls, both boys and girls, joined the second leg of the series that had its inaugural tournament in Kidapawan in Cotabato last month.

Aside from NCR entries, there were participants from nearby provinces like Laguna, Cavite, Rizal and Bulacan and as far as Ilocos Norte.

The age-group series, sponsored by Cebuana Lhuillier, headed by sportsman-businessman Jean Henri Lhuillier, President/Chief Exectuive Officer, will have a total of 21 legs, 12 of which are happening this summer in various parts of Visayas and Mindanao.

The rest of the series stretches all the way to December with Cebu City as the final leg.

“We are happy with the response as shown by the steadily increasing number of young tennis players joining every year. This is why we felt the need to add more legs in Luzon. This one in Manila is the first time we are holding it in the region, “ said Lhuillier.
