BUDDING tennis starts in Metro Manila get a chance to show their potentials as the second leg of the Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group Tennis series, now on its 7th year, takes place on March 9-10 and concludes March 15 to 17 at the PhilAm Homes Tennis Club in Quezon City.

The 21-leg series that runs all the way to December was launched last month in Kidapawan City, Cotabato.

It is open to all players 18 years old and below, who will be competing in different age groups with a chance to earn slots in the prestigious PCA Open later this year.

“We are holding a Manila leg for the first time as part of the program’s objective of expanding the base of tennis, believing that the future of Philippine tennis will always lie on the young players of today,” said Cebuana Lhuillier President/CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier, a long-time patron of Philippine sports and team manager of the Philippine Davis Cup team.

More than a hundred participants are expected to sign up for the tournament. Those interested can contact Rene Selmar at 0921-2714067, according to tournament director Mario Craiz.
