TRAINEES from the Philippine Tennis Academy showed their might in the recent Buddy Andrada Age Group Tennis Cup.

Regular trainees Roxanne Mae Rasma and Kim Iglupas and hopefuls Bryan Otico and Stefan Suarez topped their respective age brackets, signifying the success of the PTA training program.

The 15-year-old Resma ruled both the 16 & under and 18 & under age groups, beating teammate Iglupas in the 16 & under while besting Isabella Orteza in the 18 & under, Otico topped the 14 & under boys’ title while Suarez ruled the 16 & under.

Resma hails from Cagayan de Oro, Iglupas from Tubod, Iligan City, and Otico from Bukidnon as the PTA adhered to its commitment of identifying young talents from the provinces.

Other members of the PTA pool are Iggy Patino, Jan Godfrey Sen, Nicole Amistad and Rafa Villanueva.

The PTA is a private sector initiative started in August 2011 by tennis patrons, Jean Henri Lhuillier, Oscar Hilado, Rommis Chan, and Hanky Lee with the involvement of Felix Barrientos, Roland So, Raymund Suarez and Jun Telodo as head coach.
