PBA-DL: Gems and Superchargers seek third win versus each other

April 1, 2012 2:45pm

The Cebuana Lhuillier Gems will try to keep their record loss-free when they collide against the Big Chill Superchargers on Monday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at The Arena in San Juan.

Both squads are looking for win number three during their 4pm game, with the Gems hoping to tie their arch-rivals, the currently idle 3-0 NLEX Road Warriors.

For Cebuana Lhuillier, keeping their undefeated slate will be easier said than done, according to head coach Luigi Trillo.

“I have total respect for Big Chill. They have the tools. I expect them to play solid as the season goes along,” said Trillo.

On the other hand, Big Chill looks to continue its winning ways after defeating the Cagayan Rising Suns 98-66, thanks to six three-pointers converted by Mac Montilla.

At stake for the Superchargers is a chance to improve to 3-1, leapfrogging over their opponent in the standings.

In the first game, new franchise Cagayan Rising Suns hopes to record their first-ever win, when they tangle with the Junior Powerade Tigers at 2 pm.

It will be the final game Rising Suns coach Alvin Pua will have to sit out, thanks to a three-game suspension incurred for poor behavior during a pre-season match.

The Tigers on the other hand, go for their second win following their stunning victory over Blackwater Sports in their first outing of the conference. – AMD, GMA News
